 ease note that this workshop is two full days. You must attend both days t
 o receive your certification.\n\n\n\nASIST is a two-day interactive worksh
 op in suicide first-aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when some
 one may be at risk of suicide and work with them to create a plan that wil
 l support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthc
 are providers\, participants don’t need any formal training to attend th
 e workshop—ASIST can be learned and used by anyone aged 16+.\n\nIn the c
 ourse of the two-day workshop\, ASIST participants learn to:\n\n 	Understa
 nd the ways personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and in
 terventions\n 	Provide guidance and suicide first-aid to a person at risk 
 in ways that meet their individual safety needs\n 	Identify the key elemen
 ts of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to impleme
 nt it\n 	Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevent
 ion resources in the community at large\n 	Recognize other important aspec
 ts of suicide prevention including life-promotion and self-care\n\nFor mor
