 February 10th and 11th 2023 **\n9:00am - 5:00pm\nCMHA BC - Victoria Office
  (101-612 View St)\n$275 per participant\n\n**Please note that this worksh
 op is two full days. You must attend both days to receive your certificati
 on.\n\n\n\nASIST is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid. A
 SIST teaches participants to recognize\nwhen someone may be at risk of sui
 cide and work with them to create a plan that will support their\nimmediat
 e safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers\, particip
 ants don’t need\nany formal training to attend the workshop—ASIST can 
 be learned and used by anyone aged 16+.\n\nIn the course of the two-day wo
 rkshop\, ASIST participants learn to:\n\n 	Understand the ways personal an
 d societal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions\n 	Provide 
 guidance and suicide first-aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their
  individual safety needs\n 	Identify the key elements of an effective suic
 ide safety plan and the actions required to implement it\n 	Appreciate the
  value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the co
 mmunity at large\n 	Recognize other important aspects of suicide preventio
