 May 25 &amp\; 26 2023 **\n9:00am - 5:00pm\nCMHA BC - Victoria Office (101-
 612 View St)\n$275 per participant\n\n**Please note that this workshop is 
 two full days. You must attend both days to receive your certification.\n\
 n\n\nASIST is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid. ASIST t
 eaches participants to recognize\nwhen someone may be at risk of suicide a
 nd work with them to create a plan that will support their\nimmediate safe
 ty. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers\, participants d
 on’t need\nany formal training to attend the workshop—ASIST can be lea
 rned and used by anyone aged 16+.\n\nIn the course of the two-day workshop
 \, ASIST participants learn to:\n\n 	Understand the ways personal and soci
 etal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions\n 	Provide guidan
 ce and suicide first-aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their indiv
 idual safety needs\n 	Identify the key elements of an effective suicide sa
 fety plan and the actions required to implement it\n 	Appreciate the value
  of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the communit
 y at large\n 	Recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention incl
