Suicide Prevention Awareness & Community Education (SPACE) Community Intervention Training is an interactive skills-based workshop that provides participants with foundational suicide response skills.
Participants will learn how to:
- Recognize signs that someone may be having thoughts of suicide,
- Engage in supportive and compassionate conversations, and
- Connect individuals to appropriate resources using the SPACE Helping Model.
This workshop includes facilitated discussions and opportunities to put skills into practice.
Designed for organizations across all sectors, the workshop explores how individuals at every level can contribute to a more supportive and responsive workplace environment.
This training is intended for individuals that interact with the public or with clients who may be thinking about suicide and want to learn foundational suicide response skills. Please note this training is not intended for people in roles that are responsible for risk assessment and/or safety planning (see SPACE Clinical Intervention Training).
